Landed cost

Every dollar that touched the box, before you price it

Wire fees, tariffs, and inbound freight spread across invoice lines by value — anchored to the USD your bank actually debited, never a rate feed.

Anchored to real money
The effective FX rate is derived from the payment itself, so cost never drifts from your books.
Allocated by value
Shared costs split across lines by what each one is worth, conserved to the cent.
Checked at the point of sale
Every channel’s fees are modeled, so a loss-making sale is stopped before it saves.

Features

Built for how sealed-product businesses actually operate

Import English, Japanese, Korean, or Chinese product; sell it on Shopify, eBay, TCGplayer, and beyond; know your true cost and real margin the whole way.

True landed cost

Multi-currency purchase orders anchor to the USD your bank actually debited — wire fees, tariffs, and shipping spread across lines by value. The effective FX rate is derived from real money movement, never a rate feed.

A hard loss guard

Every channel's fees modeled — marketplace cut, payment processing, shipping. Record a sale that loses money after all of it and the app stops you with the full breakdown before saving.

Channel-aware pricing

Break-even and target prices per channel from your real cost and each platform’s fee structure, with a what-if ladder and margin-or-markup basis — your choice.

Preorders, natively

Sell first, buy after. Presold units wait as pending; the covering purchase fills them at its real cost, retroactively. No date games.

Breakdowns & bundles

Open a case into differently-priced components — landed cost splits by value weight, conserved to the cent — or assemble loose stock into a bundle SKU. Both editable after the fact.

Import everything

Order CSVs from Shopify, eBay, and TCGplayer with remembered product matching, plus shipping-label exports (Shopify Shipping, PirateShip, Shippo) that back-fill actual label costs onto matched orders.

Market prices, honestly

Daily TCGplayer prices with 30-day trends and true last-sold sales for linked products — with the data’s limits stated plainly, never oversold.

The whole business

Expenses with receipts attached, subscriptions with real charge history and renewal drafts you confirm, profit per channel, cash in vs cash out by month, and a dead-capital view that shows which money stopped moving.

Answers

Frequently asked questions

What kind of business is TCGMargin for?

Sellers of sealed TCG product — booster boxes, cases, collections, tins — especially those buying internationally (English, Japanese, Korean, Chinese product) and selling across multiple channels at once. If you wire money to suppliers, take preorders, break cases into components, and juggle platform fees, this was built for your exact workflow.

Can I use it for singles?

You can — a product is anything you name, so tracking singles works mechanically. But TCGMargin isn’t designed for singles at scale yet: there’s no per-card condition tracking, and market data covers product-level daily prices rather than card-level granularity. Sealed is the focus today; deeper singles support may come later.

Is my data private?

Yes — each account’s books live in their own isolated database, physically separate from every other account. No analytics, no telemetry, one session cookie. Full export or deletion on request, any time.

Where does market data come from?

A daily mirror of TCGplayer pricing (tcgcsv.com), refreshed automatically when the source publishes, plus TCGplayer’s public last-sold sales for linked products. Daily snapshots only — no intraday moves — and the app never pretends otherwise.

Which platforms does it support?

Fee models ship for Shopify, eBay, TCGplayer, Whatnot, Wix, Etsy, Amazon, and Mercari — every fee editable, and you can add any channel including no-fee local sales. Order imports: Shopify, eBay, TCGplayer, or a generic CSV.

I sell before I buy (preorders). Does that work?

It’s a first-class workflow. Sales beyond stock become presold units; when the covering purchase lands, they fill at the arriving lot’s actual cost and your realized profit updates retroactively.

What does it cost?

$5 for your first month, then $12/month — or $120/year, which works out to $10/month (two months free). Cancel any time and export your data whenever you like. No card required to try the live demo first.

Do I have to enter my history by hand?

No — export your orders from Shopify, eBay, or TCGplayer and the import tools ingest them in one pass, creating products as needed. Most sellers see their real margins within ten minutes.

I already own stock from before I kept records. Do I have to reconstruct everything?

No — book it as an opening balance: a purchase order at your best-estimate cost, permanently badged as estimated so it never masquerades as documented history. Start exact from today; backfill real paperwork whenever it surfaces.

What about currencies other than USD?

Buy in JPY, EUR, CNY, or anything else — invoice lines stay in the supplier’s currency while cost math anchors to the USD actually debited, which is the only honest exchange rate.

Is there a mobile app?

It’s a responsive web app — works in any browser including your phone at a card show. Sign in anywhere; your books follow your account.
